Ferry Road closed due to building fire

The Leith end of Ferry Road has been closed due to a building fire.

The road is closed between Newhaven Road and Great Junction Street.

Lothian buses numbers 7, 14 and 21 have been diverted due to the incident.

Pictures from the scene show police and at least two fire engines in attendance.

“Leith end of Ferry Road closed off with fire engines/police in attendance. No access for pedestrians to post office,” wrote one person on Twitter.

Edinburgh City Council’s travel updates account posted on Twitter that the road closure was due to a building fire.

Emergency Services have been contacted for more information.
