Festival speaks volumes

Jennie Renton of Main Point Books on Lauriston Street had her hands full as she prepared for the launch of this year’s West Port Book Festival.

The festival is an annual celebration organised by the second-hand book shops around the West Port, and this year’s started on Thursday with the launch of Janice Galloway’s latest book of memoirs, All Made Up.

The festival continues throughout this weekend, with events including a Second World War-themed tea dance, a celebration of eavesdropping and book binding demonstrations.
