Film stars at ‘Waverley’

HOLLYWOOD superstars Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth were hard at Perth railway station – as it doubled for Edinburgh Waverley in their new film, The Railway Man.

The station was transformed into a post-Second World War scene as Ms Kidman, dressed in a green tweed jacket and tartan skirt, boarded a steam train.

The film tells the story of ex-prisoner of war Eric Lomax, who survived the Burma railway before meeting his guard years later. Firth plays Lomax and Ms Kidman his wife Patti.
