Films to highlight experiences

TWO innovative short films tackling the experiences of people diagnosed with personality disorder and transgender experiences take centre stage in Edinburgh tonight.

Submerged and Transvisions will be shown as part of Lothian Mental Health Arts and Film Festival at the North Edinburgh Arts Centre in Pennywell Court, Muirhouse, from 6pm.

The screening of the films will be followed by discussion on identity, stigma and discrimination.

Naomi Salisbury, development worker at Consultation and Advocacy Promotion Service, said: “Submerged looks at people’s experiences of personality disorder diagnosis. At CAPS we host a collective advocacy project about people’s experience of personality disorder diagnosis.

“Whilst we’ve produced a lot of written information from the project we also wanted to explore other ways of getting information across about people’s experiences.”
