Firms pitch in with rugby competition for good cause

FUNDRAISERS in the Capital took to the rugby pitch for a good cause.

As part of PwC’s nationwide community day, One Firm One Day, the firm staged its very own world touch rugby tournament by inviting clients and contacts to form teams and take over the pitches at Murrayfield Wanderers.

Each of the 16 teams represented a nation in the Rugby World Cup and scrummed down to raise £4500 for Edinburgh-based Cyrenians’ Enterprise to Employment project. Canada (Brodies) beat Fiji (Dundas & Wilson) to lift the coveted title.

Paul Brewer, partner at PwC Edinburgh and one of the One Firm One Day activity leaders, said: “By spending just one day working to help the most vulnerable in our communities, we have shown the difference that can be made to someone’s future prospects and confidence by simply sharing some of the skills we use in our everyday work.”
