First Minister opens school

FIRST Minister Alex Salmond has formally opened a landmark school in West Lothian.

The new Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community School is the first school funded through the £1.25 billion Scotland’s Schools for the Future programme.

Pupils, staff and members of the local community attended the opening ceremony today.

Mr Salmond was given a short tour of the school before unveiling the opening plaque.
