Fire crews are currently battling a fire which broke out at Myreside Pavillion in Edinburgh.

A video obtained by the Evening News shows smoke billowing out of the historic building as crews tackle the blaze.

Council-run Edinburgh Travel News wrote on Twitter: "Myreside Road is currently closed in both directions due to a building fire.

"Service 38 will operate via Morningside Road - Colinton Road."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.23am on Wednesday February 5 to reports of a fire on Myreside Road, Edinburgh.

“Operations Control mobilised six appliances and a height appliance to the scene, where crews were met with a well-developed fire within a two-storey building within Watsonian Football Club.

“Crews remain at the scene.”
