Five held after mass brawl at Fountainbridge pub

FIVE patrons have been arrested in connection with an alleged mass disturbance at a pub in Fountainbridge at the weekend.

Four men, aged 22, 23, 24, and 44 and a woman, aged 22, were arrested by police at the Fountain Bar in Murdoch Terrace. The group has been charged in connection with assaults and breaches of the peace following the alleged disturbance at around 10pm on Saturday.

A significant number of police cars and ambulances were called to the address after reports of the incident.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: “Five people have been arrested and charged in connection with alleged assaults and breaches of the peace following a disturbance within the Fountain Bar in Murdoch Terrace on Saturday, September 17.

“Four men aged 23, 22, 24, and 44, and a 22-year-old woman are all scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.”
