Five years for two robberies

A KNIFE-wielding robber who carried out two raids within hours of each other has been jailed for five years.

A judge also ordered that Salvatore Sivero must first serve 600 days of an unexpired part of a previous prison sentence.

Sivero, 29, was out on licence when he carried out the robberies at a service station and a newsagent’s shop in Edinburgh on July 19 last year.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, judge Lord Stewart ordered that Sivero, described as a prisoner, should also be kept under supervision for a further three years.
