Force in pub crime check

POLICE visited nearly 70 pubs and clubs as part of a continuing operation targeting criminals who use licensed venues as “safe havens” for drug dealing and selling stolen goods.

Officers checked a total of 69 venues on Friday and Saturday night while 195 checks of door steward credentials and training were made over both evenings.

Police spoke with bar staff and management to gather intelligence on any criminal activity and issued crime prevention advice ahead of the Scottish Cup final weekend.
