Fort plans up for debate

RESIDENTS are being asked to shape the vision of new homes planned for Leith Fort at a public exhibition being held this week.

Proposals for the new housing development, which will be built on the site of the old Fort House, are going on public show at Leith Library in Ferry Road on Thursday.

The designs for the site are being developed by the city council and Port of Leith Housing Association, with 100 new homes being built. Members of the design team will also be on hand. All the residents of Fort House have been re-housed. It will be demolished later this year.

A council spokesperson said: “This is a great chance for people living near the new development to let us know what they think about the proposed designs.”
