FOUR West Lothian men have appeared in court following the recovery of Class A and B drugs worth an estimated £300,000 in Bathgate and Linlithgow.

Neil Scott, Ryan Ingleston and Andrew Weir, from Bathgate, and Andrew Raven, from Linlithgow, appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court.

Scott, 38, and Raven 34, were both charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis and cocaine under the Misuse of Drugs Act 197.

Ingleston, 24, and Weir, 27, each faced a single charge of being concerned in the supply of illegal drugs.

They made no plea or declaration and were committed for further enquiries. They are expected to make a second appearance in a week’s time.

Their arrests followed a police operation in which officers allegedly recovered around five kilos of cannabis along with £12,000 in cash from two men in Bathgate town centre on Tuesday.

A further £10,000 in cash was said to have been seized after a search at an address in the town’s Meadowpark Crescent the same day.

Police Scotland said further enforcement activity was later carried out at a property in Kingsfield, Linlithgow, where 34 kilos of cannabis and a kilo of cocaine were allegedly found.

Scott was remanded in custody and his co-accused were released on bail.
