Fringe show based on trio’s trip round UK

THEY’VE hitched a ride on a pink tractor, flown microlights and driven DeLorean cars as they criss-crossed their way through Britain.

In Edinburgh they clambered on board a big red bus to drive across the Forth Road Bridge.

But Ria Ashcroft, Hannah Stone and Kristy Guest, of the Gramophones Theatre Company, will be back in the Capital come Festival time with a production based on their unusual 18-day journey from Land’s End to John o’Groats. They will be making use of as many different forms of transport as possible, armed with only a backpack, £1 per mile for travel and whatever help is offered to them along the way.

They promise an “inventive, surprising piece of theatre” inspired by their adventure and the characters they encounter along the route. It will be showcased as part of the Free Fringe, August 12-26.
