Fuel bill drive is hotting up

FREE home insulation is available to private households in Tranent and Prestonpans after Scottish Government funding was secured to cut fuel poverty.

A total of £445,000 is being provided by the Universal Home Insulation Scheme, run in partnership with East Lothian Council, and from mid-October information will be circulated in both towns.

A total of around 12,000 households will be targeted.

Councillor Stuart Currie said: “This is great news. A similar scheme we ran last year in the Musselburgh area was really successful in helping householders reduce their fuel bills.”
