Funeral director is in fine fettle with new Leith office

Scotmid Co-operative Funeral Directors has opened a new branch in Leith.

The new office is situated at the corner of Duke Street and Easter Road and features facilities including a viewing room and an arrangement room.

Scotmid Society’s head of funerals, James Blackburn, said: “Leith has always had a strong Co-operative tradition and we felt it appropriate we should support the local community, whether through sponsorship of the Leith Gala Day, local convenience stores and now the new funeral office.”

The new branch is managed by funeral director Chris Armstrong and assisted by funeral arranger Lynda Buckley who between them have more than 15 years’ experience in the funeral profession.

Mr Armstrong said: “We aim to provide a full range of funeral services, including funeral plans and bonds, memorial masonry, floral tributes, catering and memorial stationery.”
