Gallery adds works to national collection

The Scottish National Gallery has announced two important acquisitions to the national collection.

Entrance to the Cuiraing, Skye (1873) by Waller Hugh Paton has been purchased and Portrait of Jean-François Regnault (1815) by Jean-Baptiste, baron Regnault has been acquired for the nation thanks to a private donor.

Michael Clarke, director of the Scottish National Gallery, said; “It is vitally important that we continue to add significant works, both Scottish and European, to this wonderful and very distinctive collection.”
