TIRELESS gamers have raised £20,000 for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.

More than 75 enthusiasts from all over the UK took part in the 24-hour gaming marathon.

Fundraisers switched on their consoles from home during the endurance challenge, which offered open entry to all age groups, including under-18s who competed in teams.

It was the second annual Sick Kids Save Point gaming event, organised by Edinburgh-born actor Tom Freeman.

Rockstar North, creator of the Grand Theft Auto games, sponsored the event and donated prizes to the top fundraisers, including T-shirts, games and other memorabilia.

Mr Freeman, a father of one, said: “I am really proud of the sum we raised at this year’s gaming marathon.”
