Gilroy faces TV sentence

TELEVISION cameras will be in court when David Gilroy is sentenced next week for the murder of Suzanne Pilley.

In a legal first, permission has been granted to film the hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh on April 18.

The footage will only feature judge Lord Bracadale, the court macer and the clerk, the Judiciary of Scotland said.

Gilroy, 49, will not be filmed.

Lord Hamilton, the Lord President and Lord Justice General, approved STV’s application.

Gilroy, from Edinburgh, was found guilty of murdering Ms Pilley, 38, on March 15.
