Have your say

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl who was knocked down at a zebra crossing in the Capital last week is in a stable condition.

The girl, named locally as Jodie Lock, was hit by a car in Groathill Road North, near Ferryhill Primary School, on Friday afternoon.

The girl was said to be in critical condition in the Sick Kids after the collision but it is now understood she is stable.

The Evening News revealed on Saturday that a council investigation is under way into why the lollipop man for Groathill Road North was not on duty as scheduled on Friday afternoon.

Police are also investigating the collision but have not brought charges against the driver.

A council spokeswoman said: “We are looking into the circumstances and a police investigation is under way.”
