SWIMMING gold-medallist Dan Wallace has told how he “turned his life around” after finding himself in a US police cell three months ago.

The 21-year-old was detained in Florida for urinating on a police car, then trying to run off when officers approached him.

He came close to losing his place in Team Scotland as a result of the incident.

He said: “Since then I’ve really made some big changes and turned my life around.”

He also said his cry of “Freedom” was not a political comment, but a joke about his name and his brief detention in the States.
