Gorgie City Farm has been a much-loved part of the local community in Edinburgh for 30 years.

It has emerged the cafe will close its doors on January 29 due to “financial sustainability.”

John Teasdale, the farm’s acting general manager, said: “The decision to close the cafe was made by the farm board regrettably.

“It was related to the financial sustainability.

“We regret making the decision but we had to think about our financial situation.”
