Hari counts on comedy

Have your say

THE ability to make people laugh is hardly a trait you would expect to find in a maths scholar.

However, Edinburgh University postgraduate student Hari Sriskantha is bucking that trend after winning a place in a nationwide comedy contest in London, to be held in May. The 23-year-old won the Scottish heat of the Chortle Student Comedy Awards, an event that has given breaks to comic Lloyd Langford and Inbetweeners star Simon Bird.

He said: “Since I’ve lived in Edinburgh, my peers in the student circuit have probably become my largest influence.”
