Health board zeroing in on A&E targets
Health chiefs have struggled for months on end to attend to the required number of people on time at the casualty ward at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, which is the busiest in the UK.
They came extremely close to meeting the Scottish Government target in July, and in August NHS Lothian finally hit the goal.

Hide AdActing director of strategic planning Alex McMahon said the health board was doing well on waiting times generally, including treating people for cancer and a range of addictions.
He said: “We are on target to hit the 18-week target by the end of December.”
