Health centre in fine fettle for opening

A NEW health centre is set to welcome patients for the first time on Monday.

The £20 million facility, which was completed on time and on budget, in Musselburgh, will be the new home for all of NHS Lothian’s services in the area.

Three GP practices are due to move in over the next few weeks.

David Small, general manager of East and Midlothian Community Health Partnership, said: “It is very exciting to be ready to accept patients into the brand new Musselburgh Primary Care Centre.

“I am confident that patients and staff will be impressed with the quality of the facility on their doorstep.

“I would also like to thank all our staff involved in the move. The smooth and successful transfer of services is down to all their hard work and effort.”

Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: “It is fantastic to see Musselburgh Primary Care Centre about to open and treat patients, and this is a prime example of how continued investment in our NHS is benefiting patients, by providing them with quality care as close to home as possible.”
