LOTHIAN MSP David McLetchie has demanded to know how much Scottish Government cash will be diverted to help NHS Lothian tackle the waiting list backlog.
He has tabled parliamentary questions to find out how much the final bill will be, as well as what support the health board will get to avoid having to make service cuts.
He said: “The original statistics were about people who had gone off the waiting list after being offered appointments in Newcastle or Carlisle and so on. But the whole thing has gone miles and miles over that. NHS Lothian needs to find the funding to clear this backlog, and I will be asking questions as to whether it has the resources to actually do that.”
