JOBS at two private hospitals in Edinburgh were advertised by NHS bosses to their staff in a major blunder.
Positions at Spire hospitals in Murrayfield and Shawfair Park were among 44 private sector vacancies posted on the NHS Scotland recruitment website.
The first of the adverts appeared in January. Jobs at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital were also put up.
Ministers have intervened, with health secretary Alex Neil saying Scotland’s official public health service portal was not intended for advertising private second vacancies.
A Scottish Government spokesman said: “Private companies should not advertise on the website. This was an error and these vacancies have been removed.
“We are working with NHS National Services to make sure this does not happen again.” However, Scottish Labour health spokesman Neil Findlay said the answers showed no-one was really monitoring that part of the NHS.
