HMFC Limited have withdrawn their bid to gain a controlling interest in Hearts. Director Bob Jamieson will now dissolve the company having decided to step aside, leaving Foundation of Hearts unchallenged as they attempt to bring the Edinburgh club out of administration.

Jamieson contacted Ukio Bankas Investment Group (Ubig) administrators this morning to inform them he was withdrawing his offer for their 50 per cent shareholding in Hearts. The club’s administrators, BDO, have also been made aware that he is now stepping back after initially trying to gain hold of UBIG’s stake in the club with an offer of cash.

When contacted by the Evening News, Jamieson blamed “threats against me and my family” for him deciding to step aside. Many Hearts supporters opposed his interference in the administration process.

Foundation of Hearts had a Creditors’ Voluntary Arrangement voted through last Friday and, with around 8000 supporters backing their monthly pledge scheme, are aiming to take control of Hearts by spring next year.
