Hibby’s car flips before final flop

HIBS supporter Garry Chapman witnessed his side’s Hampden collapse just hours after he was involved in a horrific car accident.

Mr Chapman, 29, swerved to avoid a deer and ended up flipping his maroon Renault Clio on to its roof.

Incredibly, he walked away from the crash and set off for Glasgow 25 minutes later. But surviving the smash proved to be the last piece of good fortune the businessman, from Forfar, enjoyed on Saturday.

“We left before the fifth goal, we just couldn’t handle it,” said the Hibby, whose ticket was in the Hearts end. “This whole day has been quite an experience.”
