A HIBS fan has been banned from watching his team play for the next 18 months after he was caught with a firecracker at a match.

Ryan Milne, 20, has also been banned from any Scottish Premiership or cup match for the same period after being hit with a football banning order at Perth Sheriff Court today

Milne, from Cherry Road in Bonnyrigg, admitted possessing a firework during the St Johnstone v Hibs clash at McDiarmid Park on September 14 last year, which Hibs won 2-1.

Sheriff Fiona Tait also ordered him to carry out 210 hours of unpaid work.

The court was told that although he was not seen setting off the device, he was caught with it by police because he was seen “fidgeting” within the crowd.
