Highland dress makes chef Kitchin the toast of No 10

CELEBRITY chef Tom Kitchin has represented Scotland at 10 Downing Street in a celebration of “great” British food.

The Capital cook – who owns The Kitchin and Castle Terrace in Edinburgh – joined the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Raymond Blanc to launch the Visit Britain initiative Food is Great.

Tom proved a hit at the gathering, his Highland dress going down well with the Prime Minister.

He said: “It was quite an honour to be invited to No 10 and especially to have a moment to speak to the Prime Minister. He commented that he liked my kilt and said he hopes to visit the restaurant some day. We’ll see if he finds his way to Leith.

“We have so much to celebrate when it comes to food producers and chefs here in Great Britain. I really enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and fellow chefs, all flying the flag for quality British cuisine.”
