Homes warm to £16m fund

the city council has received more than £750,000 to distribute as part of a home insulation scheme.

The scheme will enable households to take measures, including loft and cavity wall insulation, aimed at improving energy efficiency, keeping heating bills down and reducing fuel poverty.

The £755,000 share comes from a £16 million nationwide handout from the Scottish Government, which targets owners, private sector tenants and landlords.

Housing minister Keith Brown said: “The universal home insulation scheme is a successful scheme which has delivered real savings to people in their homes across Edinburgh.”
