Hotel room with taps

AN Edinburgh hotel has introduced technology that means that guests do not need to swipe a card to enter their room.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa has installed a “contactless” locking system, meaning that all guests have to do to enter their room is tap the door with their card or fob.

The system can also be adapted so that a text message is sent to some brands of mobile phones, with guests then able to just tap their mobile on the door to gain entry.
