Human bones find on Crags
POLICE officers were abseiling down Salisbury Crags yesterday to recover what they believed to be human bones.
Officers from the force and the Ministry of Defence were investigating after the remains were found by a hillwalker in Holyrood Park.
Tests are now being carried out to establish the origin of the bones, however they are believed to be human.
A police spokesman said: “Lothian and Borders Police are in attendance within Holyrood Park after what is believed to be human remains were found by members of the public.
“Specialist-trained officers from the Ministry of Defence police force are now assisting local police in recovering the items.

“Further enquiry regarding these items will now be conducted,” he added.
