Internet date ‘pestered woman for sex’

A MOTHER wept as she told a jury how she was raped by a man she met through a dating website.

The 26-year-old said she was contacted by David Evans, 34, after she viewed his profile on Plenty of Fish.

Giving evidence from behind a screen at the High Court in Livingston, she told how she had chatted online with the accused for several weeks.

She said she then arranged to meet him and drove to Charlotte Square, where they sat talking in her car for a while and “got on well”.

Later, she said, at her Craigmillar flat they had consensual sex before falling asleep.

Around 5am she said he wakened her because the bed was wet.

She told the jury: “The only way I could explain it was that he actually urinated himself in the bed.”

Then, she said, he pestered her for sex. Bursting into tears, she said: “I was using my hands to push him off me and I kept using my knees trying to get him off. I just couldn’t get him off me.”

Evans, of Stenhouse Avenue, denies sexual assault and rape on May 1 last year.

The trial, before Lord Doherty, continues.
