Jamie steps up for charity

A GYM instructor has completed ten gruelling marathons to raise money for a little-known epilepsy charity.

Jamie Bruce, 49, from Bonnyrigg, who works at the Mercat Gait Centre in Prestonpans, completed a route from the town to North Berwick ten times.

He took on the epic challenge to raise money for the Musselburgh-based Muir Maxwell Trust as the nephew of his daughter’s partner – two-year-old Harry Reid – suffers from an extremely rare form of epilepsy, which affects only one baby a year in the UK.

Jamie said: “I actually found it enjoyable, I don’t know how.

“The charity is a really good cause, it’s a one-person operation and it does so much.”

Jamie hopes to raise more than £1000 for the charity, to make a donation visit www.justgiving.com/Jamie-Bruce2.
