THREE jobs have been lost at a waste management firm in Dunbar, it has emerged.
Two employees accepted voluntary redundancy while another worker faced compulsory redundancy following an announcement at the Viridor plant yesterday.
The firm said redundancies came following of a shift in operations from “landfill to enhanced recycling and sustainable waste management”.
News of the job losses comes just weeks after Viridor was shortlisted to deliver an energy-from-waste treatment service for Edinburgh and Midlothian.
Colin Paterson, Scottish Regional Director for Viridor, said: “We will continue to work with the employee concerned to explore opportunities.”
