Judge hopes for ‘nail-biting finish’ at Edinburgh’s Got Talent

EDINBURGH’S Got Talent judge, Deborah Welsh, is looking forward to a “nail-biting finish” at this year’s final - as for the first time the contest winner will be picked by the judging panel, with no audience vote.

And with 3000 seats in the Playhouse, the promotions manager of the Evening News - and only female judge, who has been planning this year’s event since last year’s final - hopes the event will be a sell-out.

“For the past two years we have had public vote consideration on the night, but it will be purely down to the judges on the night this time,” says Deborah, who says she’s aiming to look “dramatic” on the night.

“I’m really looking forward to a nail-biting finish. The difference for me this year is that I genuinely don’t have a favourite unlike the past two years. I’m going into it with a completely open mind so I’m there for the taking.”

More than 15,000 votes flooded into the Evening News since we announced the acts who had made it through to the top 40 last month. The final 11 acts consist of eight singers and three dance groups - one of whom will win £1,000 and the chance to perform at the Forth Awards.

Tickets are selling fast but are still available at the box office on 0844 871 3014.
