A killer role for ladies at the King’s

Four lucky ladies have told of their joy at being selected to appear in The Ladykillers, currently running at the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh.

The show, which will be on until Saturday, has been recruiting ladies from each town it visits to appear as friends of the lady herself, Mrs Wilberforce, played by Michele Dotrice, best known as Betty in Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em.

All of the women are members of the Corstorphine Ladies Probus Club. Maureen Innes, 74, who roped in friends Cathie Young, 83, Barbara Hardie, 76, and Inez Nisbet, 74, told the Evening News: “We are having an absolutely lovely time.”
