THE brother of murderer Caroline Igoe has been acquitted of domestic abuse allegations.

Paul Igoe, 40, was found not guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today of battering girlfriend Amanda Dodds, 26, at a property in Firrhill Drive on September 10.

Igoe, of Blackburn Crag, was acquitted after Ms Dodds told the court that she couldn’t remember anything about the alleged incident.

She said that she had consumed alcohol and valium on the night of the alleged attack.

Igoe and his sister were jailed in May 2010 after Paul was convicted of attempting to pervert the course of justice. Paul was jailed for six years whilst Caroline – who was convicted of murder – was told that she would have to serve at least 20 years.

Paul tried to hide the gun that the glamour model had used to kill her lover Martyn Barclay, 26, with near their home in The Inch in January 2009.
