Leith rallys in show of support for Sikh community

Edinburgh showed its true colours as hundreds of people turned out to show support for two places of religious worship which were attacked on Tuesday.

Organised by the Muslim Women’s Association of Edinburgh, a peaceful vigil brought together the community outside the Sikh temple in Leith.

The response was to an early morning petrol bomb attack on both the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Sheriff Brae and the Methodist Church on Junction Street.

A 49-year-old man was in court yesterday on malicious fireraising charges.
