Leuchie here: runners set MS funds target

TWO fundraisers are limbering up to pound the pavements in the Great Edinburgh Run next Tuesday.

Beth Vokurka and Ali MacDougall are taking on the challenge to raise money for Leuchie House – a multiple sclerosis charity in North Berwick that offers short breaks for sufferers and their families.

They have set a target of £2000, and Beth, who was diagnosed with MS 18 years ago, said she was inspired to run because of how “valuable a place Leuchie House is”.

“Leuchie gives people humanity and a break from some very difficult situations,” she said.

Mairi O’Keefe, chief executive of Leuchie House, said: “The funds will go towards our efforts to provide the very best levels of care for the hundreds of people who stay with us.”
