More than 60 extra train carriages will be put on to cope with passenger demands for Edinburgh’s end-of-festival fireworks.
Operator ScotRail said it would run ten additional trains for the Virgin Money Fireworks Concert on Sunday.
Longer trains will operate from Glasgow Queen Street and Fife into Edinburgh before the event, with an extra train going from Newcraighall.
The remaining nine trains being added to the schedule will leave the Capital after the concert.
Extra services will travel to North Berwick, Newcraighall, Fife, West Calder and Glasgow via Bathgate.
Carriages will also be added to late night trains to Glasgow Queen Street, Fife, Perth and Dundee.
The fireworks concert, which will feature a performance by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in Princes Street Gardens, marks the end of the festival season.
