He’s used to filming in fake snow for Doctor Who Christmas specials, but former Time Lord David Tennant found himself dealing with the real thing in the Capital.
The 41-year-old actor, who was born in Bathgate, West Lothian, was back on home turf filming BBC drama series The Escape Artist, in which he plays a lawyer.
Tennant clinched a takeaway coffee as he tried to beat the cold alongside former Doctor Who actress Sophie Okonedo, while production assistants clutched hot water bottles.
A Marketing Edinburgh spokesman said: “We’re delighted to welcome David Tennant, Sophie Okonedo and the rest of the cast and crew of The Escape Artist. There’s a very talented team behind the programme and it’s wonderful to have the city play a part in the show’s creation.”
