TWO smartphone applications aimed at promoting local bargains and visitor attractions have been launched in separate areas of the Lothians.

Developed by the firm mi-city, the first mobile app to come on the market has been launched specifically to highlight latest deals from Leith shops, bars, restaurants and local events using a live data feed.

Available from i-Phone and Android stores, ‘mi-leith’ is free to download.

Meanwhile, a new app for Linlithgow has been launched, which includes information about the heritage trail, a ‘what’s on’ diary and a town guide of local organisations.

The app also provides details of places to stay, venues to eat and drink, as well as shop and business details.
