JAMBOS could be forgiven for thinking the weekend could not have been any better.
But it was for Hearts fan Fraser Ewing, who watched the historic 5-1 drubbing of Hibs less than 24 hours after he became a millionaire.
The newly-retired painter and decorator, from Saughton Mains, scooped the £1 million prize in the UK Millionaires raffle.
After discovering his new-found wealth at 4am on Saturday, the 47-year-old took to his local, the Busy Bee, before travelling through to Hampden for the big game.
“It doesn’t get any better than this,” he was quoted as saying. “I just saw my team smash Hibs off the park and I won a million quid. I’m pretty happy.
“I am pinching myself but it’s been a great weekend and I fully intend to get blootered.”
Fraser says he will use the cash to care for his family, including his mother, Lilian Briggs, who has Parkinson’s disease.
“Your family are the be all and end all,” he added. “But I can tell you that I won’t be picking up a paintbrush any time soon. I may do odd bits and pieces eventually but, at the moment, I’m going to celebrate.”
