Magician up to his tricks to help homeless

A WORLD-record-breaking Scottish magician is set to warm up the crowd at a charity sleep-out event this week, helping raise funds for young homeless people living on the capital’s streets.

Edinburgh magician Kevin McMahon will attend the Rock Trust’s Sleep Out 2012 event on Thursday and perform magic in front of more than 60 people who will spend the night sleeping rough in Edinburgh’s Festival Square.

Kevin recently broke the Guinness World Record for the biggest ever magic lesson, in aid of the Royal Blind charity.

The professional magician, who began his career as a scientist before taking part in Channel 4’s ‘Faking It’, where he was introduced to the world of magic, has been affiliated with the charity for the past five years.

He said: “I am delighted to be invited back to perform for the Rock Trust year after year.”
