A 39-year-old man has passed away after taking ill on Crewe Road North early on Tuesday morning.

Police were called at around 7:10am after the man had reportedly taken ill.

At least one ambulance was seen as emergency services attended the incident this morning but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police have advised that a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Crewe Road North in Edinburgh around 7:10am on Tuesday 22 September 2020, following a report that a 39-year-old man had taken ill.

"Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
