A PENSIONER knocked down an 81-year-old pedestrian in a slow-motion accident, a court heard.

Joseph Miller, 69, was driving his Range Rover at just two or three miles per hour when he struck Derek McMichael.

Miller, of Holmes Holdings in Broxburn, claimed Mr McMichael stepped in front of his car at Lidl in the town.

At Livingston Sheriff Court today, he admitted causing the accident by driving without due care and attention on September 16 last year. He was fined £100 and had four penalty points added to his licence.
