Man arrested after alleged assault on bus driver

A man was detained by police this afternoon after allegedly assaulting a Lothian bus driver.

Officers were called on to the Number 26 service at Drumbrae at around 4pm after receiving reports that a man in his 50s had been abusive to passengers before assaulting the driver.

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 55-year-old man has been detained in connection with a disturbance on a Number 26 bus service at Drumbrae Drive.”
