POLICE have arrested a man suspected of robbing a Royal Bank of Scotland then using a black cab as a getaway vehicle.
A manhunt was launched on Monday after a raid on the St John’s Road branch, Corstorphine, in which a four-figure sum was stolen.
The thief was said to have flagged down a black cab just a few hundred yards away from the branch before asking the unwitting driver to wait outside as he entered and held up staff.
He then placed the money in an organge Tesco bag.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
